Microsoft has just unveiled the latest Windows 11 Insider build 22635.2483, which is now accessible to Beta Channel testers. This marks the second release on the Beta Channel since Microsoft’s decision to streamline the experience for all Beta Channel Insiders.

Previously, Microsoft used to divide Beta Channel Insiders into two groups, with one group receiving new features enabled by default and the other having new features disabled by default. However, this approach has changed, and now all Beta Channel Insiders receive the same build. The availability of new features, though, depends on whether users have enabled the option to “get the latest updates as soon as they’re available” in Windows Update.

Under this new approach, new features will be gradually rolled out to Insiders, but in some cases, Microsoft may make them available to all Beta Channel Insiders.

The Windows Insider team explains, “Going forward, we will document changes in Beta Channel builds in two buckets: new features, improvements, and fixes that are being gradually rolled out for Insiders who have turned on the toggle to get the latest updates as they are available and then new features, improvements, and fixes available to everyone in the Beta Channel.”

In the latest build 22635.2483, two changes are noted as gradually rolling out to all Beta Channel Insiders:

  1. 3D Emoji: Microsoft is temporarily disabling the new 3D emoji introduced in the previous build 22631.2265 to address certain bugs. However, these 3D emojis will make a return in a future flight.
  2. Data Consent Checks in Europe: This change applies only to Insiders in Europe. Windows 11 features will now request consent for data sharing between Windows and other Microsoft services. If you decline consent, some features, such as file recommendations in the Recommended section of the Start Menu, will not be available.

If you wish to be among the first to test these changes, you can enable the “get the latest updates as they are available” toggle via Settings > Windows Update. Otherwise, these new features will gradually roll out to your device over time when they are ready. Windows 11 continues to evolve, and these updates aim to enhance the user experience for Beta Channel testers.
